Rose, Alena Isabelle Weaver

Alene Isabelle Rose was born September 21, 1920 in Vaughn, New Mexico to Eunice Ruth (Grubb) and Samuel Weaver. She passed away March 8, 2012 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years, 5 months and 17 days.
Alena grew up in Vaughn, New Mexico and in 1925 she moved to western Oklahoma with her family, where she has lived ever since. She was married to John “Jack” Rose at Hammon, Oklahoma on April 6, 1947. They lived on a ranch northeast of Strong City until 1989 when they moved to Elk City to make their home.
Alene became a Christian at the age of 13; being baptized into Christ by Brother C.E. McGaughey, and was a member of the Second and Adams Chruch of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Amert and Derrel Weaver, 1 sister, Vela Mae Ezell, 2 sisters-in-law, Alice Rose Thomas and Kathryn Switzer.
She is survived by her 11 nieces and nephews, Virginia Rackley and husband, Tom, Yukon, Oklahoma, Loretta Cox and husband, Loyal, Blanchard, OK, Jim Weaver and wife, Carolyn, Yukon, Oklahoma, Robert Ezzell and wife, Lyndia, Sayre, Oklahoma, Mary Leddy and husband, Phil, Leander, Texas, Melba Highley and husband, Richard, Batavia, Ohio, Linda Campbell and husband, Lonnie, Hammon, Oklahoma, Sharon Harrell and husband, David, Elk City, Oklahoma, Juanits York, Elk City, Oklahoma, Keith Weaver and wife, Sondra, Elk City, Oklahoma; 1 sister-in-law, Helen Weaver, Elk City, Oklahoma; several great and great great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 10:P00 am at Whitney-Savage Chapel officiated by Tom Harguess. Burial will be at Red Hill Cemetery under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service.
