SILVI, Nancy (Wilkerson) Buss

Nancy Buss Silvi, our “Nana, 75, of Dallas, PA died unexpectedly at her home Thursday, June 9, 2016, doing what she loved , tending to her lawn and gardens.
She was born January 16, 1941 in Norman, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Rev. James and Nellie Dufran Wilkerson. She Attended Cheyenne High School until her Junior year and was a graduate of Laverne High School and Wichita State University, but she had a true passion for the University of Oklahoma Sooners. Nancy was a former health and Physical Education Teacher as well as a track coach at several local schools and retired as a domestic relations officer for Luzerne County, PA.
The proud daughter of a Baptist minister, she kept her faith as an active member of the Shavertown United Methodist Church. An avid golfer, Nancy played in many golf leagues.
Nancy will be remembered most for her outgoing personality, her kind heart, her devotion to her family and friends and for always being so full of life.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, George Wilkerson and sister, Nelda Homan.
She is survived by her sons, Mark Buss and his wife, Carol, Forty Fort; and Matthew Buss and his wife, Gina, Charlotte, N.C.; her best friend and sister, Ruthie Parker, Peoria, AZ; grandchildren, Kelsey and Luke, who filled her heart with so much love and pride; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her adopted families, the Potomis‘s and the Kopicki‘s, who she loved like her own.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Shavertown United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Judy Walker, pastor, presiding. To reflect Nana’s life, dress code should be casual and cheerful. At her request, any donations can be made to her grandchildren’s education fund. Funeral arrangements are by Kopicki Funeral Home, Zerbey Ave., Kingston, PA.
