STARR, Jerry Lee

Jerry Lee Starr was born April 9, 1947 in Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma to Lecy and Marvin Lee Starr. He passed away March 26, 2016 at Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 17 days.
Jerry grew up in Ft Cobb, Oklahoma and attended schools there. He was drafted in August of 1996 into the United States Army and served as a cook for two years. He was married to Linda Haskett in 1966. Jerry went to work for Public Service Company (PSO) in 1970 and in 1983 he was transferred to Cheyenne, Oklahoma and retired after 30 years of service.
Jerry served on the Chamber of Commerce in Cheyenne, Kiwanis Club and the Cheyenne Fire Department. He retired from the Cheyenne Fire Department after many years of service, which he was proud of. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren and took much pride in them. Jerry was known for his great cooking and his hobbies of woodworking, restoring old cars and working on scooters. He loved cats very much and his special catMorris”, whom he cherished.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and one grandson, Jarod James Martindale.
Jerry is survived by his son, Jerry A. Starr, Oklahoma City, OK; one daughter, Susan Starr Mabra and husband, Robby Mabra, Cheyenne, OK; five grandchildren, Blake Martindale and wife, Ashley, Cheyenne, OK, Brace Hill, Sayre, OK, Timmy Mabra, Sayre, OK; Adreanna Starr, Stillwater, OK and Dyonna Ramos and husband, Michael, Stillwater, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 1:00 at the Cheyenne Methodist Church. The meal for the family will precede the services. Interment in the Cheyenne Cemetery.
