Mary Louise Thomas, 92, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was born on January 1, 1928 in Berlin, Oklahoma. She is the daughter of George Morris Hocker and Etta Mae (Eldridge) Hocker. She passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at her home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with her loving family by her side.
Mary married her best friend Arnold Gene Thomas in 1948, in Canadian, Texas.
She worked as a nurse in Yukon, Oklahoma at Dr. Lowery and Dr. Enos office for around twenty years.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, oil painting, sewing, gardening and drinking Dr. Pepper. Being a grandmother was her favorite thing to do.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the Martin-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel in Elk City, Oklahoma. Rev. Scott Rodgers will officiate. Interment will be at Red Hill Cemetery, in Hammon, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Cherishing her memory is her son, William Joe Thomas and wife, Marie of McDonough, Georgia; two daughters, Glenna Sue Salmon and husband, Glen of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Jackie Teresa Garcia and husband, Vince of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Bobbie Lyn Chadwick and husband Len of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Vincent Garcia and wife, Kelly of Edmond, Oklahoma, Rachel Garcia of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Brandon Garcia and wife Brianne of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Shae Garcia of Moore, Oklahoma; seven great-grandchildren Sydney Jones of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Evan Nutter of Edmond, Oklahoma, Connor Garcia of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Cole Garcia of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Ava Garcia of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Lacie and Ray Belcher and family of Midland, Texas, Megan and Colby Miller and Family of Weatherford, Oklahoma.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Gene; her parents, George and Etta Hocker; one son Marion Morris Thomas, four brothers, George, Benny, Laurence and Bill; three sisters, Margaret, Adele and Gladys.
