Ida Joan Ackley was born July 22, 1932 to Reed D. and Frances H. Ackley at Hammon, Oklahoma and departed this life on January 11, 2011 at the age of 78 years.
She was married to Jimmie Leon Tomberlin on August 26, 1950 in Hammon, Oklahoma. To this union were born 3 sons and 1 daughter.
Joan was a faithful member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by their daughter, Kitty Fran, at the age of 20 months. Her parents and a sister Lahoma June and infant sister Jean.
Survivors include her husband Leon of the home in Marble Falls, Texas. Three sons and their wives Mike and Pam Tomberlin, Florence, Alabama; David and Kay Tomberlin, Flower Mound, Texas and Dean and Terri Tomberlin, Marble Falls, Texas. 10 grandchildren: Patrick and his wife Alicia Tomberlin, Marble Falls, Texas; Jennifer Tomberlin, Florence, Alabama; Jillian Tomberlin, Auburn, Alabama; Jordan and her husband, Chris Ray, Southside, Alabama; Joseph and Jonathan Tomberlin, Florence, Alabama; Christopher and his wife, Katrisha Tomberlin, Lubbock, Texas; Emily and her husband Jared Burns, Fort Worth, Texas; Kirby Tomberlin, San Antonio, Texas; two great granddaughters, Chloe and Kynda Ray, Southside Alabama and many other relatives and friends.
The family request memorial donations be maded to Hensel Christian Youth Camp, 7819 Singleton Bend Road, Marble Falls, Texas 78654 in lieu of flowers.
