Ware, John Wesley

John Wesley Ware was born December 25, 1913 in LaCasa, Texas to Thomas Emmit and Minnie Lee (Turner) Ware. He passed away March 2, 2012 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 98 years, 2 months and 7 days.
Wesley was the 7th of 9 children. He was raised in and around Sunset, Texas and began his education at Possum Trot, a one room schoolhouse near Sunset. At the age of nine he moved with his family to Blair, Oklahoma and later to Doxey, Oklahoma. In 1933 he moved to Claremore, Oklahoma where he worked at CC Camp for two years. He returned to western Oklahoma in 1933 and lived in Sayre where he met and married he loved of his life, Alma Mae Lowry, on November 30, 1936 at the Prairie View Church near Doxey. They raised two daughters, Thelma Mae and Pauline Laverne in and around the Dayre-Doxey area. Wesley worked on several farms, ranches and dairies in the area. He was also employed with the Oklahoma State Highway Department, Hammons 66 Service Station in Sayre and the Sayre Memorial Hospital. Wesley loved fishing, growing vegetable gardens and flowers. He took pride in his flowers and lawn, doing his own yard work and mowing until he was almost 90 years old.
Wesley came to know the Lord in 1998.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 7 brothers, 1 sister, 2 daughters, Thelma Mae Farris and Pauline Laverne Gee, 2 sons-in-law, Jim Montgomery and Clarence Gee, 1 granddaughter, Jeannette (Plemons) Givens and a great granddaughter, Cindy Lou Schuerman.
Graveside services were held Monday, March 5, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Sayre-Doxey Cemetery officiated by Dr. Alberta Helton. Arrangements are undee the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Condolences cazn be made online at www.whineryfs.com
