Etoy grew up in western Oklahoma and attended schools in the Hammon, Cheyenne and Canute communities. She was married to William Wesley Morton and they made their home near Sayre, Oklahoma. While W.W. owned his own business around that area, Etoy was a homemaker. She returned home with her parents in the mid 40s until she was later married to Dennis M. Wilder in 1949. After their marriage they made their home in Elk City, Oklahoma where Etoy continued to be a homemaker and care for her family. Etoy was content to be at home where she would work on the home and care for her children. She did many good works at the Elk City Nazarene Church including babysitting children during church services. Etoy also enjoyed drawing funny pictures, but her love in life was caring for animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Mary June Johnson, sisters: Lois LaFaye Jewell, Nelda Joyce Hebert, Beatrice Lovett and one brother, Elbert Lacey.
She is survived by her daughter, Violet Fern Vail and husband, Ray, Leicester, NC; three grandchildren, eleven great grand children; six great great grandchildren and one sister, Jessie Lacey, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; one cousin, Leroy Robinson, Elk City, OK. Services were held at the Whinery Savage Chapel on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
