Lynda Fern York was born September 1, 1944 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Leah Irene and Sammie Darrow Burckhalter. She passed away My 21, 2012 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years, 8 months and 10 days.
Lynda grew up in the Sunny Point community and attended school at Sweetwater.
She was married to Ronnie Eugene York at Wheeler, Texas on October 12, 1960. They lived in Sweetwater befor moving to Perryton, Texas. In May of 1963 they moved to Leadville, CO and thn back to Sweetwater in 1966. In 1994 they movd to Elk City to make their home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sons John Shane York and Sammy Durood York.
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie, 1 sister, Kaye Hopkins, Oklahoma City, OK; 2 brother, Paul Burckhalter and wife, Donna, Springfield, MO, and Buck Burckhalter and wife,Vera, Elk City, OK; and a host of nieces, nephws, other relatives and friends.
Services will be hel Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 10:00 am at Rose Chapel officiated by J.M. Ashley. Burial will be at Mulberry Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Condolence can be made online at www.martin-duggerfuneralhome.com
